Airflow Technician (Day Shift)

Job Description:

The Airflow Technician will perform specified airflow inspections under direct supervision in accordance with appropriate company procedures, specifications and travelers; Complete various departmental reports, including discrepancy; Must maintain accurate record of daily production activity; Perform in a safe and productive manner in compliance with company policies and procedures; Maintain work station in a clean and orderly manner; Perform other duties as required by supervisor or management.

Job Functions:

Will use and operate all required airflow equipment. Will follow sheet requirements and sign off on travelers as required.  Airflow / mold inspections will be performed while maintaining a close working relationship with Supervisor, Quality, and Process Engineering personnel.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Read prints, op-sheets, and travelers
  • Assist in proving out airflow molds through R&R and Gage R&R methods
  • Assist with customer master development
  • Prepare reports for external customers
  • Verify that all airflow operations are properly performed and signed off
  • Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required
  • Function effectively within a team environment
  • Creates test reports per PI-283 and customer needs
  • Creates and reviews airflow part programs per customer flow down
  • Adhere to all quality and safety standards


  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in manufacturing and / or quality work
  • Must meet ITAR definition of US Person(s)
  • Proficient in computer applications which may include MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc) and department specific systems/ applications
  • Ability to communicate information verbally and in writing in English
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English
  • Must be responsive with department personnel/associates to promote a team player environment
  • Participate in cross-training efforts, interacting with other departments to acquire additional skills and knowledge
  • 20/25 vision (corrected) required
  • Must have flexibility to work through completion of time critical projects as necessary
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Perform any other task management deems necessary or needed by the company
  • MTI is a safety sensitive manufacturer. As such, successful results of pre-employment drug testing will be required.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Algebra and statistical analysis
  • 2+ years in a manufacturing environment
  • Skilled in pneumatics, mechanical, computers or other related technologies

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to consistently stand, use hands, reach with hands and arms, move throughout the facility, and communicate.  The employee must frequently lift/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  The noise level in the work environment may be loud.  Must be able to use required Personal Protective Equipment.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
