FAA Testing Required

Job Description:

A&P Mechanic will maintain the airworthiness of aircraft and all their components while in service or while undergoing scheduled overhaul maintenance. Tasks are completed according to FAA regulations, company policies and procedures, and instructions from the Director of Aviation and the Director of Maintenance.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform assembly, disassembly and repairs required in the completion of airframe overhaul, repair or modifications, including but not limited to removal, replacement and repair of parts of engines, airframes, and systems
  • Responsible for set up and break down of equipment, tools, and supplies used during the repair of aircraft
  • Required to tow and move aircraft during the performance of maintenance duties
  • Cleaning of parts and components during the repair and assembly of aircraft
  • Responsible for aircraft post-flights and pre-flights
  • Presence required at hangar for assistance with all departing and arriving flights
  • Responsible to assist in cleaning and stocking company aircraft when needed
  • Responsible for assisting with hangar upkeep and light maintenance
  • Responsible for record keeping and tracking of scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance of company aircraft
  • All other responsibilities, duties and/ or training that are assigned by supervisors

Requirements:

  • Must have A&P License and High School Diploma or equivalent; college preferred
  • Must meet ITAR definition of US Person(s)
  • Federal Laws requires MTI to determine an applicant’s history of Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and/or alcohol violations(s) or refusal(s) to test before hiring him / her into a safety-sensitive position
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Requires use of arithmetic, blueprints, and specification
  • Must have a valid passport and ability to travel freely to and from all cities/countries
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems
  • Must have full command of English language and the ability to communicate orally and in written form
  • Must have the flexibility to work through completion of time critical projects as necessary
  • Must have trouble shooting skills, avionics and sheet metal experience preferred
  • Use of Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Excel, Word, and Windows Explorer,
  • Must be proficient in problem solving, teamwork, and analyzing information
  • Successful results of pre-employment FAA drug testing and ongoing FAA testing required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience performing maintenance on Lear Jet 60 and Piaggio Avanti aircraft
  • Experience as an A&P maintenance technician in a corporate flight department
  • Experience working with Flightdocs Aviation Maintenance Tracking Software

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move throughout the facility, stand, sit for long hours, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and communicate. The employee may occasionally be required to lift/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment may be excessive at times. Must be able to use required personal protective equipment. Must be able to work outside in extreme temperatures and inclement weather. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
