Part-Time HR Compliance Specialist


Job Description:

Development and implementation of compliance programs for the organization; Monitor business activities for compliance with applicable rules and regulation; Ensure operating manuals and procedural documents stay current when regulations change; Respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies and complete required compliance documentation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Title IX/OFCCP, Affirmative Action planning (compilation of data, serves as the Title IX designator for the organization and subsidiaries)
  2. Monitor legal developments, communicate changes and partner with HR Director and company subsidiaries to ensure compliance
  3. Provide compliance support and direction to various internal departments with regard to employment law
  4. EEOC compliance, reporting, and data input
  5. VETS-4212 compliance, compilation of data, and reporting
  6. Employee Handbook: update and roll out (sections dedicated for subsidiaries)
  7. Perform business-critical and time sensitive research of federal, state, and local statutes to determine compliance. Analyze and create courses of action designed to promote adherence with new and existing laws.
  8. Developing and managing systems and methodologies (training, policy memorandums, etc.)
  9. Responsible for preparing compliance-related training and communications to employees
  10. Adhere to AS9100 and other quality standards
  11. Perform all other duties as assigned or required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Human Resources, Psychology, or Social Administration from an accredited institution
  • PHR Certification required, SPHR preferred
  • Must meet the ITAR definition of US Person(s)- Documentation required
  • Must have hands- on experience in the application of compliance policies and procedures; solid understanding of employment laws and regulations and demonstrated research abilities in creating presentations.
  • Solid commitment to customer and employee service
  • Articulate communicator with ability to interpret and explain written and statistical data, as well as policies and procedures, to a wide range of audiences
  • Ability to convey difficult and challenging information
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize work
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, and explain employment regulation
  • Integrity, confidentiality, and friendly approachability
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to research, evaluate, and analyze methods and procedures
  • Able to work alone on a broad variety of projects
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with ADP, Dynamics, and MPCS software is a plus
  • An exceptional attendance record is required for this position
  • This position is a part time position less than 29.5 hours per week
  • MTI is a safety sensitive manufacturer. As such, successful results of pre-employment drug testing will be required.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and communicate.  Work in office environment and use of computer (typical 2-button scroll mouse, and keyboard – 95% of the work day).  The employee must frequently lift or move up to 5 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  The noise level in the work environment may be loud.  Must be able to use required PPE.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
